There are many ways to get into shape and it is up to you which one you go for. My primary goal is to get people fitter. The route you take is up to you.

I offer one to one personal training in a private personal training studio in Ashbourne. I have set up a private studio because for many people, the thought of going to a gym to train can be intimidating. There is always a worry that people judge you and what you are doing. By having a private studio we can focus entirely on your goals and your needs, we do not have to worry about other people.

One to one personal training means that you can specify your goals and work towards achieving them, with personalised training plans, nutrition advice and motivation. You will notice and see the differences in how you feel and look.

If you would prefer, I can come to you and you can train in the comfort of your own home. Training in your home is easy, you will be comfortable, we do not need as much space as people think. If this is your preferred option, I will come to you and I will bring everything we need in order to train you effectively. We can still design personalised training programmes and, because we are training at home, you will be able to carry on with many of the exercises throughout the week.

As you progress and achieve your goals you may move on to a gym or private studio afterwards.

Powerlifting conjures up images of enormous men or women lifting huge weights and this is unfortunate. Powerlifting consists of three main lifts – Bench Press, Squat and Deadlift. All three exercises are functional (this means they have real everyday benefits) and help develop strength and improve fitness. They do not automatically mean you will become enormous and muscle bound. You can powerlift just for the enjoyment and all the benefits without the bulk.

Several women who have started powerlifting with me over the years have been amazed at the way they have firmed up and got slimmer. Two of the benefits that no one ever associates with the word ‘powerlifting’.

Powerlifting coaching is available with Peak Fitness. I have a competition style bench, squat rack and platform set up and can coach for general fitness or competition.

Why not try it? You never know, you might like it!

‘Alistair is a great PT he has helped me improve my confidence and enjoy weight training. I am achieving more than I thought. He puts the needs of his clients first so they get the most out of the training session. Highly recommended.’
